⚡ Calculate Breaker Size
📊 Recommended Breaker
📚 How It Works
Circuit breakers must be sized to protect the wire, not the device. The NEC provides specific rules:
For continuous loads: Breaker must be sized at 125% of the load
For non-continuous loads: Breaker can be sized at 100% of the load
Standard breaker sizes: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 125, 150, 200 amps
🔧 Common Applications
15A: Lighting circuits, 15A outlets (120V)
20A: General outlets, bathroom circuits (120V)
30A: Dryers, water heaters (240V)
40A: Ranges, ovens (240V)
50A: Electric vehicle chargers, large ranges (240V)
